Privacy Policy

Who we are

This website is operated by Medical IT Advisors, which provides the CyberShield service. We are responsible for the personal information collected through this website under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

This policy covers this website only. It does not cover the CyberShield customer area or the service itself, or the websites of others that we link to.

What we collect

  • What you send us. When you email us, we receive your email address and anything you include in the message, such as your name, organisation and phone number.
  • How the site is used. We use analytics to understand which pages are visited and which links are followed. With your consent, analytics cookies recognise a returning browser. Without it, visits are counted without cookies or a lasting identifier. This site does not record sessions. Our Cookie Policy explains the choices.
  • Technical information. Like any website, the servers that deliver it receive your IP address, browser and device type, the page you came from, and the time of your visit.

How we use it

We use this information to reply to your enquiry, to understand and improve the website, and to keep it secure. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

Two service providers process information for us: Vercel, which hosts this website and counts page views without cookies, and PostHog, which provides our analytics. Both are based in the United States, so this information is stored and processed outside New Zealand. We do not share it with anyone else unless the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry emails for as long as we need them to respond to you and to keep a record of our dealings. Analytics are kept in aggregate to see how the site is used over time.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Email office@altersec.com and we will respond as soon as we reasonably can.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a privacy concern, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are published on this page, with the date above, and take effect when published.
